Vitamin D3

 

Nutrition supplement with Vitamin D 1000iu providing 25μg of the important micronutrient in the preferred and natural form of D3 (cholecalciferol), which is the most easily absorbed form.

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that can be taken through the diet or synthesized from the body after skin exposure to sunlight (UVB).

Most vitamin D is produced by skin exposure to sunlight. However, many people do not produce the necessary amounts of vitamin D, because the ability of the sun to contribute to vitamin D synthesis by the skin is affected by:

    in the season (higher amounts of vitamin D are produced during the summer)
    the latitude
    the time of day in which the skin is exposed to the sun, the cloudy (full cloudy sky causes a 50% reduction in vitamin D production from the skin)
    cloud / environmental pollution (most residents live in large cities)
    the skin content of melanin (dark skin photographers make smaller amounts of vitamin D after exposure to sunlight) and
    the use of sunscreens (SPF8 and above).
