A-lipoic acid (thioptic acid or vitamin N) is an important enzymatic cofactor in the Krebs cycle, a metabolic process used by the cell to produce ATP, a molecule mainly involved in our body's energy metabolism. A-lipoic acid is the fundamental factor for the functioning of all dehydrogenases in the human body. A-lipoic acid is active both in the aqueous phase (cytoplasm) and in the lipid phase (membrane) of cells.

USE
